Our last day in the booth was also scheduled to the very minute, barely letting us catch our breaths. We never
realized when SWIFT's closing session had begun - a good thing some of us made it there. In the evening we all went to relax dancing at the Sibos party, held in
the overly-crowded Hofburg Palace.

After not much sleep, all team members started a brand new day of demos, conferences and speeches which went by rather quickly. Amongst our lessons learned, top of the list is that we should
definitely have a bigger stand next year in Hong Kong, because this year it just wasn't enough. And, after Tuesday's late night party, our guests returned to us sharing their feelings about the event.
Late in the evening we relaxed serving long 'centimeters' of fun.

"We choose qPayIntegrator from Business Information Systems not only because we have a
rewarding 10 year collaboration, but mainly due to SWIFT credentials for both its team and
solution" says Radu Gratian Ghetea (CEO CEC Bank).
"Business Information Systems will ensure that CEC Bank meets all of its compliance obligations, while taking full advantage of the new
commercial avenues which SEPA opens" says Sorin Guiman, (CEO Business Information Systems).
Business Information Systems strongly believes that CEC Bank selected its solution because it is optimized for funds transfer management, providing multiple payments,
direct debit and debit instruments support, liquidity management, continuous Nostro/Vostro reconciliation, exception investigation, duplicate detection,
native real-time resilience, competitive reporting and analysis.
The event caught the attention of the media, who has shown
great interest in our presence at Sibos, and was featured in the

CEC Bank selects BIS' SEPA-compliant payment hub
|
|
On Tuesday, Romania’s oldest bank, CEC, contracted with Business Information Systems (BIS), also based in Romania, for the provision
of its SEPA-compliant payment hub, qPay-Integrator. The payment suite will be fully integrated with CEC Bank’s core payments
architecture, and is the first SWIFTReady SEPA 2008 application to be certified by SWIFT.
The two Romanian parties have enjoyed
|
a 10-year collaboration, and Sorin Guiman, CEO of BIS, said that his company will "ensure that CEC Bank meets all of its
compliance obligations, while taking full advantage of the new commercial avenues which SEPA opens."
BIS has successfully migrated qPayIntegrator on Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT, in partnership with Microsoft.

|
As soon the press' flash-lights had started to fade, our team began to move
quickly towards Lehar 4, the conference room reserved by SWIFT for our
Special Interest Session,
"Public Institutions in SEPA Context".
We have gathered an exquisite panel, consisting of: Mr. Radu Gratian Ghetea (Chairman
& CEO of CEC Bank and also Chairman of the Romanian Banking Association), Mr. Stefan Nanu (MEF General Director - State Treasury), Ms. Sheida Hadji Ashrafi (Worldwide Industry Manager Payments - Microsoft Corporation)
and Mr. Sorin Guiman (CEO of Business Information Systems).
All the panel members have stated their opinion regarding
the role the government institutions should play to provide a
larger acceptance and adoption of SEPA provisions. The pilot solution we have innovated together
with the Romanian Ministry of Economy and Finance was also on debate -
qPayIntegrator over Microsoft® BizTalk® Accelerator for SWIFT. More information on what was discussed
and featured slideshows can be found
here.

| To put an end to a successful, frightening and very long day, the team and their guests (a total of 80 persons) met at Radisson Palace Hotel for a wonderful party,
accompanied by the finest Romanian wine, Black Maiden. Photos from the event are available in our

(our first day in pictures) |
|
The first day overwhelmed us and totally took us by surprise
as we didn't expect that much attention and jam in our
rather small booth. We managed though to stick to all of our
prior scheduled meetings and commitments, welcoming our
guests as well as we could. |
Business Information Systems has announced that the
centralized payment hub, qPayIntegrator, has received the
SWIFTReady Application SEPA 2008 certification, becoming the first solution endorsed by SWIFT for the SEPA track.
[...]
The announcement again demonstrates the commitment BIS has to providing solutions most closely aligned to market regulations, standards, and infrastructures for its customers.
qPayIntegrator has been designed by BIS to help banks and their corporate clients be compliant with SEPA and TARGET 2.
In order to achieve the 2008 SWIFTReady Gold label, BIS has steadily invested in developing a solid team knowledge in the banking payment business.
The main anchor relies on SWIFT standards, solutions and technologies. BIS business analysts - trained and certified by SWIFT on various solution tracks - are able to provide both
consultancy services to our customers and to create specifications for products to help banks to achieve greater interoperability and higher quality distribution channels.
Following a successful 5 year partnership in the payment & settlement aria with the Romanian Ministry of Economy and Finance, BIS has initiated a joined participation with its own stand to Sibos 2008.
"The success of SEPA depends also on the Public Administration's proactive attitude for the project", says Sorin Guiman, General Manager BIS. Early compliance with new standards of the Public Administration will give financial institutions and corporates a jumpstart to SEPA compliance.
Aiming to share with Sibos participants their experience, BIS and MEF have initiated a special interest session on "Public Institutions in a SEPA Context", scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 16, Room Lehar4.
